League of Legends: Team Liquid part ways with Korean top laner Impact..

Dutch esports powerhouse Team Liquid announced Monday through its official X Twitter account that its League of Legends team has parted ways with Korean top laner Impact.
According to Liquid's official statement, after six titles, one MVP, and countless unforgettable memories, the time has finally come for the team and Impact to part ways again.
Despite the end of their relationship, Liquid is grateful for all of Impact's contributions and efforts to the team and wishes him well in the future. They also hope everyone will continue to support Impact's future developments.
Following the announcement of his departure, Impact expressed his gratitude for the support and criticism from fans and apologized for failing to maintain his strong start, which led to a subpar performance this year. He also confirmed that he will not retire and would be open to new partnerships if a suitable offer is offered.
2015 was a challenging year for Liquid. The team first suffered an shock loss to Shopify Rebellion in the LTA North Summer Split in June.
Although Yuuji later left the team and was replaced by UmTI, the team's performance declined.
Liquid suffered consecutive defeats to 100 Thieves in the subsequent LTA North Autumn Split and LTA Cross-Conference, which cost them their spot at Worlds.
About Impact
The 30-year-old Impact was born on March 7, 1995, in South Korea. He has been a top laner in the League of Legends esports scene since 2012.
Impact began his professional career with Xenics Storm and Tempest before joining T1 in 2013.
During his time with T1, Impact, along with their subsidiary team T1 K, won the 2013 League of Legends Champions Korea, the 2013 World Championship, the 2014 Paris All-Star Game, the 2014 NLB Summer Split, and the 2015 LCK Spring Split.
Beginning in 2015, Impact began his plying his trade overseas. Over the course of two and a half years, he played for Impulse, NRG, and Cloud 9 (C9).
In November 2017, Impact joined Team Liquid for the first time.
Over those three years, he helped the team win four LCS titles and finished second at the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational.
In December 2020, Impact joined Evil Geniuses (EG).
During his two and a half years with EG, Impact helped the team win the 2022 LCS Spring Split.
In December 2022, Impact joined FlyQuest.
The following November, Impact returned to Team Liquid.
Over the past three years, Impact helped the team win the 2024 LCS Winter Split, but his performance this year has been less than ideal.
