Edson Alvarez: We are taking a step in the right direction

Edson Alvarez, the midfielder currently playing for West Ham United, was very happy with the attitude and performance of his team, and his assist also successfully helped the team to a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in the Premier League.  

Edson Alvarez believes that the team's performance and result in this game symbolize that they have taken a step in the right direction. Edson Alvarez said: "It was a very pleasant game. We knew it was difficult to get points here. I think we could have scored a few more goals."  

“We knew it was always going to be a tough game against Aston Villa so we tried to control the game and gradually gain more possession. I thought we played well in the second half but should have scored one or two more goals. But that’s football and we’ll take the point and try to build on it.”  

Edson Alvarez's assist was his first for the club this season and he was delighted to have contributed to the draw. Graham Potter has one win, one defeat and one draw in his three league games in charge. This is the role that manager Graham Potter has played at the club so far.  

Edson Alvarez said: "As soon as I got the ball, I knew we could get past them in this position and I'm very happy with the result. This game was very important for us because we were frustrated by the defeat at home to Crystal Palace last time and we always wanted to get the three points. We did it, so we are moving in the right direction."
