Portuguese professional CS2 team SAW announced on Tuesday that Thiago Rodrigues (ID: mowzassa) has been appointed head coach, replacing Thiago Fonseca (ID: SYDOX). As for SYDOX, who previously served as interim head coach for four months, SAW confirmed that he will return to his role as an analyst.
SAW will also hire sports psychologist Diogo Pontes to provide professional support for the players' mental and emotional health.
Regarding this personnel adjustment, SAW stated in the announcement: "This reorganization is aimed at maximizing the value of each member of the technical team and ensuring that everyone plays their best role in the position that best suits them."
“We believe these adjustments will strengthen the team structure and help us prepare for future competition as a team.”
The 36-year-old mowzassa appears to have no previous experience coaching a CS team, but SAW has strong confidence in him. In the announcement, SAW wrote: "We believe his qualities, character, and leadership are key elements for the team to enter the next stage. Although he is still new to the CS2 field, he will surely help the team achieve success with his rich competitive experience and multifaceted abilities."
Regarding Sydox, SAW said: "He has performed exceptionally well in his analyst role in the past, and we believe he will continue to have a significant impact on the team here. His analytical skills have always been key to the team's progress, and this adjustment will undoubtedly further enhance his role."
