Freiburg left winger Weishaupt joins St. Pauli on loan with no buyout clause

St. Pauli officially announced on Thursday that it had loaned Noah Weishaupt from Freiburg until June 30, 2025. According to various sources, Weishaupt's loan contract does not include a buyout clause.

It is also reported that Weishaupt will wear the No. 13 jersey in St. Pauli . His joining is to fill the vacancy left by Elias Saad due to injury and help St. Pauli improve the Bundesliga ranking.

Regarding Weishaupt's arrival, St. Pauli sports director Andreas Bornemann explained: "This signing provides us with more options for wing attack and makes our future tactics more unpredictable."

"Noah has a very solid football foundation. He is not only dynamic, but can also play in multiple positions on both sides of the wing. He has accumulated rich experience in the Bundesliga and we believe he can bring excellent performance to the team immediately."

St. Pauli coach Alexander Blessing also spoke highly of Weishaupt's ability: "Noah is very fast and uses it cleverly in one-on-one confrontations. He is always a constant source of trouble for the opponent's defense. We believe that Noah can help us create more threats in front of the goal and improve our offensive efficiency. He is good at creating opportunities for his teammates through accurate crosses."

The 23-year-old Noah Weishaupt mainly plays as a left winger, but can also play as a left midfielder, right winger, left back, etc. He came from Freiburg's youth training and made his debut in the Bundesliga for the first team on September 12, 2021.

So far, Weishaupt has made 78 appearances for Freiburg , scoring 2 goals and providing 7 assists. After completing the signing, he said: "I am looking forward to my time in Hamburg, especially playing in front of the fans at Millerntor Stadium. I believe St. Pauli can provide me with favorable conditions and help me take a bigger step in my personal development. After all, many Freiburg players have achieved success through loan. Now, my first priority is to adapt to the new environment as quickly as possible."
