Noni Maduke said that his second goal in two consecutive games did not help the team much after the team lost to Manchester City. Noni Maduke believes that the team's performance has not reached its best and must work harder to win the next game.
The winger opened the scoring against Manchester City when Nicolas Jackson put a lot of pressure on the City defense, forcing a mistake and then assisting his teammate to score. Despite this, Chelsea eventually lost to Manchester City with a score of 1-3.
"We give our all in every game and that's when we are at our best and we did that and got the first goal," said Noni Madueke. "But when we lose, we don't feel as good as when we win."
“It’s a very disappointing result and it’s tough on us. We went there with the goal of winning the game but it didn’t go the way we expected. We were pretty close in the middle but they were more precise in both boxes than we were on the day and that’s why we lost.”
"From an attacking point of view, I thought we were a little bit weak against City. The game was tied at 1-1 for a long time and when they scored the second goal it became very difficult.
"They scored the second and third goals on the counter-attack and we probably weren't as organised as we would have liked to prevent those goals. However, we won't dwell on this defeat and will focus on the next game and hopefully get back to winning ways."
"We try to win every game, I said that at the beginning of the season. That's the best way, don't think about the end goal first, but work hard in the process, and that's what we did."
