LCK club Dplus KIA (DK) announced on Tuesday via their official X (Twitter) account that T1's ADC player Smash has officially joined the team.
According to DK's official statement, Smash will replace Aiming, who recently left the team, as their new bot laner.
The latter has since joined KT Rolster.
Furthermore, according to analysis from foreign media outlet Sheep Esports, Smash's transfer is expected to have a significant ripple effect on several top teams across the LCK.
Many in the industry speculate that Nongshim RedForce (NS) will be the next team to undergo a major roster change.
DK's consistent poor performances this year led to their unexpected failure to qualify for the League of Legends Worlds Championship, forcing management to make a major roster change.
In addition to Aiming, support player BeryL also left the team after his contract expired.
Former head coach Bengi, who worked closely with Smash during his time at T1, also parted ways with the team due to their disappointing results.
Hopefully Smash's arrival can lead Dplus KIA (DK) to new heights next season.
About Smash
Smash, born Sin Geum-jae on July 20, 2006, is only 19 years old. In 2021. He had already began playing League of Legends professionally at the age of 15, primarily as an ADC, but also capable of playing the bot lane.
Smash's professional career began with T1's Academy, and in 2023 he was promoted to T1 Challengers, playing alongside Poby (Fnatic (FNC)'s current mid laner) and Rekkles (Los Ratones' current support).
During this time, he attracted the attention of Cloud9 (C9), but the transfer ultimately fell through.
At the beginning of this year, Smash's outstanding performances led to his promotion to T1's main team.
As a member of T1's main team, Smash participated in the LCK Cup, defeating Gen.G 2-1, a team comprised of former JDG (JD Gaming) player Ruler.
However, his sudden promotion to the main team led to the benching of former ace player Gumayusi, drawing heavy criticism from fans and straining the latter's relationship with the club.
To quell the resentment, T1's CEO quickly recalled Gumayusi to the starting roster, while Smash was relegated back to the Challengers team. Despite this, his performances were not affected.
On the contrary, he still contributed significantly to the team's success, winning the 2025 Asia Masters and achieving third place in the LCK Challengers, and being selected into the 2025 LCK Challengers All-CL Team.
