River Plate announced on its official website on Tuesday that it has re-signed Argentina international defender Lucas Martínez Quarta from Fiorentina.
According to River Plate's official statement, Martínez Quarta has signed on a three-year contract with the club which runs until the winter of 2028.
In addition, according to the news brought by Sky Sports' resident renowned Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Argentine Primera División giants paid a total of €5 million to I Viola to sign Martínez Quarta.
It is worth mentioning that this will be Martínez Quarta's return to River Plate after four years.

Martínez Quarta, 28, was born on May 10, 1996 in Mar del Plata, Argentina. He is 1.83 meters tall and plays as a center back. He has dual Argentine and Italian citizenship.
Martínez Quarta joined the youth academy of non-league club, Club Atlético Kimberley, at an early age. He joined the youth academy of River Plate in 2012 and made his River Plate first-team debut in November 2016.
During his three-and-a-half year spell at River Plate, Martínez Quarta won the Argentine Cup twice, the Argentine Super Cup once, the Copa Libertadores once and the Recopa Sudamericana once.
In October 2020, Martínez Quarta joined Fiorentina for €10 million.
During his four-year spell with I Viola, Martínez Quarta has played 142 times for the Serie A powerhouse in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 5 assists, where he has reached the Coppa Italia final once and the UEFA Europa Conference League final once.
