Rodrygo has decided to stay at Real Madrid and not join Saudi giants Al Hilal despite having the chance to become the most expensive player in world football.
According to El Chiringuito, Al Hilal made a sky-high offer of 300 million euros to Real Madrid, and also offered Rodrigo a super contract with an annual salary of 140 million euros. However, Real Madrid rejected the record transfer fee, and Rodrigo himself said "no" to the transfer opportunity.
Al Hilal are seeking to replace Neymar, and while Rodrygo does not have the same global impact as team-mates Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham or potential new signing Kylian Mbappe, the 24-year-old Brazilian striker has played an equally key role in Real Madrid's success. He has been in red-hot form over the past six weeks, scoring four goals in his last two Champions League games while also contributing eight goals and assists in his last five La Liga games.
Regarding the players receiving high salary offers, Real Madrid coach Ancelotti said: "It is difficult for me to talk about the players' future because it depends on their personal decision. What I can see is that the players in the team are very happy now and hope to stay here. As for how they personally think about the future, it is difficult to say. Even my future is difficult to predict, let alone others. But one thing is certain, many players want to play for Real Madrid, even some unexpected players from the outside world."
