The NBA Utah Jazz traded 36-year-old Australian basketball veteran Patty Mills to the Los Angeles Clippers. This is Mills' fourth trade in the past two years.
According to ESPN's well-known reporter Shams Charania, the Jazz sent inside players Drew Eubanks and Mills in exchange for Clippers forward PJ Tucker, center Mo Bamba, a future second-round draft pick and some cash.
The 28-year-old Eubanks is the core asset of this deal. The Clippers have a record of 28 wins and 20 losses this season, which is beyond the expectations of the outside world. This deal is also their key reinforcement before the trade deadline to enhance the team's inside depth and prepare for the playoff sprint.
Eubanks' current contract expires in the 2025-26 season and his salary this season is $5 million.
The NBA trade deadline is scheduled for 7 a.m. Beijing time on February 7.
For Australian fans, Mills' whereabouts are the focus. The 16-year NBA veteran, a guard who has played 909 games in total, played 17 times during his time with the Jazz, averaging 4.4 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, mainly playing a substitute role.
Since Mills' contract will expire after this season, the Jazz used him as a bargaining chip to facilitate the deal.
