Falcons staged a comeback to defeat G2 and narrowly advance to the quarterfinals of the Budapest Major.

In the do-or-die match of Stage 3 at StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, Falcons rallied from a first-game deficit to win the next two maps, defeating G2 Esports 2-1 and advancing to the quarterfinals.

This comeback not only showcased Falcons' resilience but also secured them a valuable spot in the MVM Dome single-elimination playoffs. In the first map of the series, Ancient, chosen by G2, they quickly took control of the early game, winning 13-9.

Falcons struggled with item usage and key round execution, failing to keep up with G2's offensive pace and falling into a passive position. This disadvantage meant Falcons had to make a perfect response in the second map.

Upon arriving in Inferno, Falcons rebounded completely, achieving a dominant 13-4 victory, one of the most resounding performances of the tournament. The key player was m0NESY, whose AWP had a devastating impact in several crucial rounds, repeatedly dismantling G2's CT structure.

Entering Dust2, the battle intensified. Despite G2's numerous attempts to catch up and their victories in the pistol and eco rounds, Falcons' firepower proved superior. m0NESY once again proved crucial, securing frequent kills in high-pressure gunfights. Ultimately, Falcons won the deciding round 13-10, successfully advancing to the quarterfinals.

Having advanced to the playoffs, Falcons will face an even tougher challenge in the single-elimination bracket. If m0NESY, NiKo, and the team as a whole can maintain their form, they have the potential to go much further in this Major. However, if their previous inconsistencies resurface, Falcons could still face the risk of early elimination.
