Arsenal beat Manchester City Odegaard: This victory will further boost morale and belief

With goals from Odegaard, Thomas Partey, Lewis Skelly, Havertz and Nwaneri, the Gunners Arsenal defeated the Blue Moon Manchester City 5-1 in the 24th round of the 2024/25 Premier League. Arsenal captain Odegaard said the team's performance was amazing and that the victory would continue to boost the team's morale and belief.

Only 3 minutes into the game, Odegaard scored against Manchester City, giving Arsenal a dream start with a 1-0 lead. In the 55th minute of the second half, Savio passed the ball to the goal, and Haaland took advantage of the momentum to score, helping Manchester City tie the score at 1-1.

A minute later, Foden made a mistake in passing the ball, and Thomas Partey took the ball and shot from a distance. The ball touched Stones and then deflected into the net, helping Arsenal to take the lead again with 2 to 1. In the 62nd minute, Rice assisted Lewis Skelly to score a goal, helping Arsenal continue to lead Manchester City 3 to 1.

In the 76th minute, Martinelli passed the ball from the penalty area, Havertz received it and shot it in, helping Arsenal to further expand their lead to 4 to 1. In the second half stoppage time, Nwaneri received Rice's pass and scored with a long shot.

In the end, Arsenal defeated Manchester City 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium. After two consecutive victories, Arsenal is currently ranked second in the standings with 50 points, 6 points behind Liverpool, which is in first place.

Obviously, a win like this will further boost morale and belief, which is undoubtedly an extra boost."

“It was really important to score early on, we did a great job of pressing high up the pitch, winning a few possessions and scoring a goal after that. We could have scored another one but it was a really good start.”

Odegaard also said, "After the opponent scored a goal, our reaction was very good. We immediately regained control of the game and quickly scored a goal. Then we didn't stop. Both the way we played and the final performance were amazing."

It is worth mentioning that Lewis Skelly, now 18 years old, scored his first goal in his career as a first-team player for Arsenal. Odegaard said, "I am really happy for him. As you can see, he is a very good person, has excellent ball control and can create threats in the game. For a player of this age, his performance is incredible whether with or without the ball."
