Official: The Pacers have signed 27-year-old center Micah Porter, and waived Wesley Matthews and James Wiseman.

The Indiana Pacers announced Friday that they have signed Micah Porter to a non-guaranteed contract.

Micah Porter, 27, is a 6'6" (2.11m) and 113kg (5.5kg) center who played for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Wisconsin Badgers in college. He entered the 2021 NBA draft but was not selected by any team.

Nevertheless, Porter is no stranger to the NBA. He played 64 regular season games for the Detroit Pistons and Utah Jazz, averaging 3.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 15.2 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 45.3% and a three-point percentage of 34.4%.

For the most part, Porter played in the Development League. He previously played for the Sullivan Skyforce, Salt Lake City Stars, and Austin Spurs, accumulating 92 appearances to date, averaging 15.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks in 30.1 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 51.4% and a three-point percentage of 38.8%.

For the Pacers, signing Porter was a reluctant move: with Isaiah Jackson and Tony Bradley both sidelined with injuries, the Pacers' interior depth was severely lacking. To make room for Porter, they had to waive Garrison Matthews.

The 29-year-old Matthews primarily plays guard and has played for several teams throughout his career, including the Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets, and Atlanta Hawks. Since joining the Pacers in November 2025, he has appeared in 15 regular season games, averaging 5.2 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.7 assists in 13.1 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 40.4% and a three-point percentage of 37.0%.

Earlier this month, the Pacers had already released James Wiseman, the second overall pick in the 2020 draft, whom they signed earlier this month. Wiseman played two games for the Pacers this season, appearing in a total of four games and averaging 3.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 14.5 minutes per game.
