Lazio completes contract extension with Montenegrin international defender Adam Marusic..


Lazio announced on their official website on Sunday that they have extended the contract of vice-captain, Montenegrin international defender Adam Marusic.


According to Lazio's official statement, Marusic has signed on a short-term two-and-a-half-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2028, with the option to extend for a further year.


About Adam Marusic


The 33-year-old Adam Marusic was born on October 17, 1992, in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Standing at 1.85 meters tall, he primarily plays as a right wing-back, but can also play as a right midfielder or left wing-back. He holds dual Serbian and Montenegrin citizenship.


Marusic joined the youth academy of Voždovac at a young age and completed his Voždovac first-team debut coming on as a substitute in September 2010.


During his four-year spell at Voždovac, Marusic won the Belgrade Regional League title and helped the club achieve consecutive promotions and establish itself as a powerhouse in the Serbian SuperLiga.


In June 2014, Marusic joined Kortrijk for €450,000.


In June 2016, Marusic moved  to Oostende for €900,000. During his time there, he helped the club reach the Belgian Cup final.


The following July, Marusic joined Lazio for €5 million.


Since becoming a member of I Biancocelesti, Marusic has made 335 appearances for the Serie A powerhouse in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 17 assists, winning the Supercoppa Italiana twice and the Coppa Italia once.
