Real Madrid coach Ancelotti admits team is disappointed with draw

In the 23rd round of the 2024-25 La Liga season, Real Madrid drew 1-1 with Atletico Madrid. Coach Ancelotti revealed that the team was disappointed with the result of the game.

In the first half, Atletico Madrid scored first and led 1-0. However, in the second half, Kylian Mbappe scored to help Real Madrid equalize the score. Unfortunately, until the end of the game, neither team scored again and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

At the post-match press conference, Ancelotti reviewed the game and said: "We deserved more, especially in the second half. We controlled the game and created a lot of opportunities. In the second half we were faster and more aggressive."

"In terms of commitment, we did well. Everyone sacrificed, fought and battled for the team and recovered the game in a difficult situation. When Atletico were leading, they hit our weaknesses by defending and counterattacking."

"They were very dangerous in that area but we handled it well. The defence played well, especially the two centre-backs. We recovered after the penalty and were very close to winning the game."

"The team is disappointed with the result because they felt they deserved the win and were so close. But we are still at the top of this competitive league. It has been a very tense week but on Tuesday we can relax a bit."

Real Madrid currently has 50 points in the La Liga, ranking first in the standings, one point ahead of Atletico Madrid, which is in second place. Real Madrid's next La Liga match will be on February 15, away to Osasuna. Before that, Real Madrid will also play against Manchester City in the Champions League.
