Joe Willock: It's a very exciting time

Newcastle United defeated Birmingham City 3-2 and continued to challenge the FA Cup. However, it was Joe Willock who scored the winning goal for Newcastle United.

In the first half of the game, the two teams tied 2-2. In the second half, Willock scored a goal in the last 10 minutes to help Newcastle United win. In the post-match interview, Willock talked about the atmosphere of the team and said: "This is a very exciting moment."

“We just want to thank the fans for their support, it’s not easy to come here. You know, it’s raining and it’s a very difficult place to play, but we still have to thank them and hopefully we can do better in the Carabao Cup and keep going in the cups like we did today.”

Willock's teammate Callum Wilson also scored a goal in the game. He mentioned Willock in the post-match interview. Wilson said: "I'm happy for Joe. He is an important role in the locker room and we all like him very much."

"We are all behind him and on his side. It is difficult when you are not in the team and he has been patient and got his chance today and took it. So it gives the manager more options as well."

Regarding his performance in the game, Wilson said: "This is a typical FA Cup game. We didn't give ourselves the best start and lost an easy goal."

"I think we were behind after about 30 seconds, which put a lot of pressure on us. It also motivated us. We had to cheer up and show our strength."
