Feyenoord sacked head coach Brian Priske..


Feyenoord announced on its official website on Monday that the club's Danish head coach Brian Priske has been sacked effective immediately.


According to Feyenoord's official statement, the club is very grateful for Priske's contribution over the past six months and wishes him good luck in the future, but due to the inconsistent performance and the loss of the players' trust, the management had to make this decision.


At the same time, his assistants Babalola Andersson and Bjorn Hamberg will also leave the club effective immediately, and Priske's successor is expected to be announced in the near future.



About Brian Priske


Priske, 47, was born on May 14, 1977 in Horsens, Denmark. He is 1.88 meters tall. He played as a right back during his playing career and was a Danish international player. His son August is also a professional footballer. He currently plays for Djurgårdens as a center forward.


Priske played for AC Horsens and Aarhus in his early years and joined Aalborg in 1999.


During his four-year spell at Aalborg, Priske led the club to win the Danish Superliga once.


In July 2003, Priske joined Genk for 120,000.


In August 2005, Priske joined Portsmouth for £1 million.


During his time at Pompey, Priske was regarded as a legend by Portsmouth fans because of his outstanding performance during which he helped the club, which was still playing in the Premier League at the time, to successfully avoid relegation.


The following summer, due to being unwanted by the then returning head coach Harry Redknapp, Priske joined Club Brugge for €2.25 million in August 2006.


During the two-year spell at Blauw-Zwart, Priske helped the Jupiler Pro League club win the Belgian Cup once.


After leaving Club Brugge in 2008, Priske played for Vejle, Midtjylland and IK Start successively, and retired in the summer of 2011.


After retiring, Priske returned to Midtjylland as an assistant coach and has since devoted himself to coaching.


In August 2019, Priske was promoted as the head coach of Midtjylland.


During his two-year tenure at Ulvene, Priske led the club to shockingly win the Danish Superliga once by operating in a small budget and was highly praised.


In May 2021, Priske was appointed as the head coach of Royal Antwerp, during which he led the club to the Round of 32s of the Belgian Cup.


In May of the following year, Priske was appointed as Sparta Prague's new head coach of .


During his two-year stint as Sparta Prague head coach, Priske led the club to win the Czech First League twice and the Czech Cup once.


In the summer of 2024, Priske replaced Dutch coach Arne Slot who became the head coach at Liverpool as Feyenoord's new head coach.


During his half-year stint at Feyenoord, Priske has coached the Eredivisie giants in 33 matches across all competitions, achieving 17 wins, 8 draws and 8 losses, with a percentage of 51.52%.
