Ahead of West Ham United's upcoming away match against Liverpool, manager Nuno Espirito Santo attended the pre-match press conference to update the team's current squad health and suspension status.
Among the most concerning issues is the injury status of winter transfer window signing Pablo Felipe. The young Brazilian striker, who joined from Gil Vicente in Portugal in January, has already missed the Premier League matches against Manchester United and Bournemouth, as well as the FA Cup victory against Burton Albion, due to a calf injury.
Speaking about Pablo's recovery progress, Nuno revealed positive signs at the press conference, but he also confirmed that the striker has not yet participated in full team training: "Pablo has not yet joined our full training. He is starting his individual recovery training program, so he is improving every day."
Nuno expressed his eager anticipation for Pablo's return: "We will continue to assess his condition and see when he can return. Hopefully as soon as possible, because we miss him very much."
In addition to injuries, West Ham United also face disciplinary issues for this match. Freddie Potts will definitely miss the Anfield trip. Having received a red card earlier this month against Burton, Potts is serving a three-match suspension, the second of which will be against Liverpool this weekend.
When asked about the overall preparations of the rest of the team, Nuno remained cautious. He stated that the final lineup still requires further evaluation: "There are always some things that need to be assessed. We have another training session tomorrow, after which we will depart."
