Everton manager David Moyes said he was very proud of the effort of his players and the passion of his supporters as James Tarkowski's late goal secured a 2-2 draw against Liverpool.
With 17 minutes remaining, it looked as though Mohamed Salah would seal the win, but James Tarkowski broke the deadlock with a beautiful half-volley in the eighth minute of second-half stoppage time.
After the game, David Moyes said: "I think this game was huge, when we came from behind to draw, it was a big result for us. I remember the nights I played here early in my career, it was a great place to play football."
"It was a great match and I think the fans were proud of the stadium. In many ways, the team is proud of the fans too. Because they never gave up and they kept supporting us. Sometimes we lacked motivation but we got a lot of motivation from the support of the fans."
"For me, the most important thing is to get points and ensure we stay in the Premier League. I am very satisfied with the performance of the players, but we still have a lot of room for improvement and need to work harder."
"But I think the players have really tried their best and I think that's why the crowd chooses to support them because they know the players are working very hard. We have some restrictions but we are trying to make it not too big of a problem."
David Moyes also said: "We have said before that it is a very difficult game against Liverpool. They are currently far ahead in the league, but the team has also done their best to play well."
“I thought James Tarkowski’s goal was a great touch and we just need to keep working hard and keep getting more points to finish higher in the league as possible.”
