Enzo Maresca provides update on current Chelsea injury situation

In the 25th round of the 2024-25 Premier League, Chelsea will play away against Brighton. Coach Enzo Maresca provided the latest status of the team's injuries.

In the pre-match press conference, Maresca mentioned the health of forwards Nicola Jaxon and Marc Geu. Maresca said: "Nicola is injured and he will be out until after the international break."

"We knew he had a muscle problem but we didn't know how serious it was. His initial reaction was good so we thought it wouldn't be a big problem. Unfortunately the tests revealed the injury and he will be out for six to eight weeks."

"Marc Geu will also be out for a while. He also has a muscle problem, specifically a hamstring injury, and will need to rest for a while before returning to the pitch."

Although some players were unable to upload, Maresca also brought good news, that is, it was confirmed that captain Reece James would be available for tomorrow's game against Brighton. James has performed impressively since returning from injury in recent months, and Maresca is satisfied with this.

Maresca said: "Reece is in good shape. He was rested against Brighton in the FA Cup and that was part of our plan to give him a chance to adjust. He has had more rest in the last few days and now he is fine to play tomorrow. We are very happy to have Reece on the field."
