Former Lazio Senegal international forward Keita Baldé joins Monza on free transfer..

Monza announced on its official website on Thursday that former Lazio Senegal international forward Keita Baldé has joined the club as a free agent.

According to Monza's official statement, Balde has signed on a short-term four-and-a-month contract with the club which will only run until the end of this season. At the same time, he will also wear the No. 17 jersey.

About Keita Baldé

Keita Baldé, 29, was born on March 8, 1995 in Arbúcies, Catalonia, Spain. He is 1.78 meters tall and primarily plays as a left winger. He can also play as a right winger or center forward. He has dual Spanish and Senegalese nationality. His younger brothers Ibourahima and Mahamadou are also professional football players and also play as forwards.

Baldé joined Barcelona's famous La Masia youth academy since he was a child. During this time, he was loaned-out to Cornella's youth academy due to disciplinary problems.

During his time while on-loan at the Cornella youth academy, Baldé attracted the attention of Manchester United and Real Madrid with his outstanding performances, but he eventually chose to join Lazio for €300,000 in the summer of 2011, and completed his Lazio first-team debut by coming on  as a substitute in September 2013.

During the four-year spell with I Biancocelesti, Baldé reached the Coppa Italia final twice with the Serie A powerhouse.

In August 2017, Baldé joined Monaco for €30 million.

During the four-year spell with Les Monégasque, Baldé reached the Coupe de la Ligue final once.

During this spell, he was also loaned-out to Inter Milan and Sampdoria.

After leaving the club at the end of his contract in the summer of 2021, Baldé moved to Cagliari as a free agent.

In August of the following year, Baldé joined Spartak Moscow as a free agent, but was suspended until December 2022 one month later for suspected doping.

On the 2023 summer transfer window deadline day, Baldé was loaned-out to Espanyol.

In August 2024, Baldé joined Sivasspor as a free agent.

During his time at Sivasspor, Baldé played only 11 times for the Turkish Süper Lig club in all competitions and scored 1 goal.
