American Counter Strike 2 esports powerhouse FaZe, announced on Thursday via its official X (Twitter) account the launch of its Academy youth development program, FaZe Up Next.
According to FaZe's official statement, this program aims to discover highly promising young Counter Strike 2 esports stars and provide these players with opportunities to be promoted to the main team and prove their abilities. Further details about the program will be announced later.
The timing of FaZe's announcement coincides with rumours circulating online that the team will be making roster changes.
Recently, rumours have been circulating online that in-game leader karrigan is about to part ways with FaZe, but these rumours have remained unconfirmed.
Regarding netizens attributing FaZe's inability to consistently build a winning team to a lack of funding, CEO Kaysan gave an interesting response during a recent personal livestream.
He said, "I don't know what kind of narrative this is, but we're not on the verge of bankruptcy. Of course, you absolutely cannot compare us to Falcons."
In other words, Kaysan was humorously implying that FaZe can never match the inexhaustible financial resources that the state-owned esports powerhouse which was controlled by the Saudi Private Investment Fund (PIF) had.
