T1 Esports Club officially announced today that it has signed former League of Legends professional player and legendary South Korean veteran Lee Ji-hoon (ID: EasyHoon) as its coach.
EasyHoon will officially join the main team's coaching staff starting from the second round of the 2026 LCK season championship, fighting alongside the team for the remainder of the season. This signing marks EasyHoon's return to the T1 jersey after eleven years.
As early as 2013, EasyHoon joined SKT T1 S as the starting mid laner, and after the league format was reformed in the 2015 season, he became the substitute for the core player Lee Sang-hyeok (Faker).
During his time with Faker, EasyHoon maintained an efficient tactical rotation with him, making significant contributions to the team's victory in the LCK Spring and Summer Championships and the World Championship. Now, he returns as a coach, successfully reuniting with his former teammate Faker and current head coach Tom.
Behind the scenes of his transition, EasyHoon's coaching abilities have been thoroughly tested on the top esports stage. For nearly two years, he coached the LPL team Bilibili Gaming (BLG), demonstrating exceptional tactical acumen. Under his guidance, BLG not only successfully reached the finals of the 2024 World Championship but also decisively won the 2025 LPL World Championship.
Currently, T1 is facing severe challenges in the competition. Although the team had a perfect 5-0 start in the 2026 LCK Cup regular season, their performance has declined significantly after their unfortunate defeat in the playoffs.
Entering the first round of the LCK regular season, T1 suffered consecutive losses to strong opponents such as KT, Gen.G, and DK, currently holding a record of only 3 wins and 3 losses. Meanwhile, the recent off-field legal disputes surrounding player Faker and Oner, as well as the immense public pressure Oner faces due to fluctuating performance, have caused the team's overall morale to plummet.
EasyHoon's arrival will undoubtedly be a shot in the arm for T1's coaching staff. It is hoped that he can use his rich experience in the competition and coaching to stabilize the team's morale and help the team regain its dominance in the upcoming matches.
