Oliver Glasner stated that the semi-final stage of European competitions is the goal that every ambitious young player aspires to. Crystal Palace will cherish the opportunity to compete against Shakhtar Donetsk for a place in the UEFA Europa League final in Leipzig.  

Before the match, Oliver Glasner said in an interview: "We are all very much looking forward to this match. It is the semi-final against Shakhtar Donetsk, which is very important. When there are only four teams left in a competition, it means that the strongest teams are still left.
