Phoenix Suns face San Antonio Spurs, Kevin Durant happy to be back in Austin

The Phoenix Suns are set to take on the San Antonio Spurs, and Kevin Durant is excited to be back in Austin, where he played for the University of Texas.  

The forward will be in Austin, Texas, with the Phoenix Suns taking on the San Antonio Spurs in a home game for the San Antonio Spurs and a return for Kevin Durant, as the game will take him back to where he played his lone collegiate season with the Longhorns.  

Kevin Durant said: "This means a lot to me, and I'm very happy to be able to go back there to play a regular season game. Austin is where I started this journey, and I still have a lot of friends and family there, which is really great. So I'm very grateful to the NBA for arranging this event. This is a very special moment."  

Kevin Durant's only season in Austin was the 2006-07 season, and he was the best player in college basketball that year. Kevin Durant averaged 25.8 points and 11.1 rebounds per game, ranking fourth in the country in both statistics this season, and was selected as the Player of the Year by the Associated Press and many other media.  

After that season, Kevin Durant declared for the draft and was selected by Seattle with the second pick in 2007. The honors continued to increase. Kevin Durant is the only male athlete in American basketball history to win four Olympic gold medals. He has won two championships with the Golden State Warriors. Last weekend, Kevin Durant was selected to the All-Star Game for the 15th time and became the eighth player in NBA history to score more than 30,000 points.  

When asked if he plans to visit his favorite places in Austin, Kevin Durant said: "I'll try to walk around the city. I don't have a set schedule, but there are some things I want to see."
