Manchester United youngster Alejandro Ganaccio made a controversial move in the last game against Ipswich City. Manager Ruben Amorim revealed that he had spoken to Ganaccio and "punished" him.
In that game, Ganajao was substituted near the end of the first half. Ganajao did not stay on the bench when he was substituted, but walked directly back to the locker room. This behavior caused controversy. After the game, Amorim also said that he would talk to Ganajao.
Recently, Manchester United will face Fulham at home. At the pre-match press conference, Amorim was asked about Ganacho. Amorim smiled and said to the reporter: "Yes, he came to me. The interesting thing is that he came to my office the next day."
"I did some research and found out that he went back to the locker room to change his clothes after being substituted because his clothes were wet during the game. He did watch the game from a different location and did not sit on the bench, and went home directly after the game, so it was not a big issue."
"But I told him that at Manchester United everything is important, especially in all clubs, the outside world's perception is extremely important. Therefore, he needs to buy a dinner for the whole team, and the matter was resolved."
Although Amorim did not take it too seriously, Ganachiao was still criticized for his move. Amorim said: "He is still young and will learn from it. The important thing is that he took the initiative to talk to me the next morning."
"We need to look at the little details, like the behaviour of the players when they walk off the pitch. We have to understand the situation, the environment and the age of the players. Of course, they need to do a better job and understand the importance of public image, but some things can be fixed the next day and move on."
