Wolves manager Vitor Pereira was pleased with his side's performance in their Emirates FA Cup clash at Bournemouth despite a number of hiccups throughout the 120 minutes.
After a poor first half, Vitor Pereira was pleased with his team's performance. After the match, Vitor Pereira analysed the eventful cup campaign.
"It was a difficult match with a lot of restrictions against a very physical team that played with long balls," said Vitor Pereira. "We fought until the last minute, until the last penalty."
"I'm proud of my team, even though we missed the penalty, we kept playing until the end. Matthews is a special player and he didn't play today. He has had a hamstring problem for the past three weeks and he tried his best."
"In the end what happened wasn't supposed to happen but that's what happens in football. So we have to deal with the situation and we didn't see what was going on, we just looked at the ball on the other side and the referee gave the red card.
"It is very important for us to have one less penalty specialist and in the next games we will be without a very important player. Ultimately, we will play with 11 men in the next game against Everton."
Vitor Pereira added: "In the first half we tried to play short passes, but they were very aggressive in attack and very strong physically. We had problems and it was difficult in the first half. Nevertheless, we have to be happy with the progress the team has made in the cup."
