FlyQuest confirms interim coach AZR has transitioned to full-time, contract term unknown

FlyQuest, a North American professional Counter-Strike Online (CS2) team, released a statement on Sunday confirming that Aaron Ward (ID: AZR), previously serving as interim head coach, has officially transitioned to full-time coaching. The exact duration of AZR's tenure remains unknown.

AZR, 32, is from Australia and has primarily played as a leader or rifleman throughout his career. He has played for numerous Counter-Strike teams, including Vox Eminor, Renegades, 100T, EXTREMUM, Sprout, and TALON. During this time, he played a total of 1,189 maps, participated in 30,887 rounds, and achieved 20,950 kills. He also played a significant role in Renegades' victory at the 2017 SL-i Shanghai International Invitational.

AZR's coaching journey began in September of this year, when, after nearly six months off from competitive play, he was appointed by FlyQuest as interim coach for DraculaN's Season 2 playoffs. This opportunity also reunited AZR with compatriot Justin Savage (ID: jks), with whom he had previously worked together for six years at Vox Eminor, Renegades, and 100 Thieves.

Under AZR's guidance, FlyQuest was eventually eliminated by GenOne and finished 7th-8th in the DraculaN Season 2 playoffs. Despite a relatively mediocre debut, FlyQuest decided to make AZR their full-time coach.

With AZR becoming a regular, FlyQuest's current roster is as follows:

Commander/Rifleman: Joshua Porter (ID: INS)

Rifleman: Declan Portelli (ID: Vexite)

Sniper: Julian Harjou (ID: regali)

Rifleman: Corey Brown (ID: nettik)

Rifleman: Justin Savage (ID: jks)

Coach: Aaron Ward (ID: AZR)
