Kimmich talks about contract extension: There will be results soon, no later than before the international match day

Joshua Kimmich has made it clear that he will make a decision on his future before the international break.

Kimmich, 30, has played for Bayern Munich since 2015, making 427 appearances, scoring 43 goals and providing 114 assists. He has won one Champions League, one Club World Cup, eight Bundesliga titles, one European Super Cup, three German Cups and six German Super Cups. His contract with Bayern is currently only three months away, but the two sides have not yet reached an agreement on a contract extension.

According to a joint report by Bild editor-in-chief Christian Falk and deputy editor-in-chief Tobias Altschäfer last week, Bayern Munich has withdrawn its offer to renew Kimmich's contract. Just one week later, it was reported that Paris Saint-Germain submitted a formal written offer to Kimmich until 2029, but the player has not yet expressed his acceptance or rejection.

After Bayern's 3-0 win over Leverkusen, Kimmich finally talked about his personal future. He made it clear: "We will make a decision soon. Now the decision is not in my hands, but in the hands of the club. Although the news about the withdrawal of the contract has been leaked, I did not receive similar information in the conversation."

Kimmich added: "My plan was to make a decision before the international break, but the club wanted me to give an answer before the two games against Leverkusen. Their idea is very reasonable and I am grateful that they gave me enough time. After a difficult season, I think it is important to get a good start this season and rebuild trust with each other."

"For me, the situation is a bit complicated by injuries. However, there will be a result soon. I am not sure if a decision will be made between the two legs against Leverkusen, but no later than before the international break."

Asked if other clubs were under consideration, Kimmich replied: "Yes."
