Somnus returns to Dota 2 pro play with Azure Ray

Chinese Dota 2 star mid laner Somnus丶M (formerly known as Maybe) announced his return to the professional arena, aiming directly at the 2025 International Invitational (TI).

After a long break, Somnus will once again join forces with his former team Azure Ray to participate in the TI 2025 China qualifiers which will begin on June 2.

This return is notable because Somnus has made several short returns to Dota 2 over the past few years, creating content on Chinese live streaming platforms, but he has returned to the TI season every year to prove his worth.

In 2023, Somnus joined Azure Ray and helped the team defeat several top teams such as Team Aster, Invictus Gaming and Xtreme Gaming, and finally exceeded expectations with a fourth place and successfully entered TI 2023. This achievement won him more praise.

In 2024, Somnus returned and competed as TEAM TURTLE. Although they successfully advanced to the open qualifiers, they ultimately failed to achieve their goal.

Now, Somnus returns to Azure Ray, teaming up with Monet, JT-, Pyw and xNova- to form a new lineup to challenge for the qualification of TI 2025. The team will compete with strong teams such as Xtreme Gaming and Yakult Brothers in the Chinese qualifiers.

The TI 2025 China qualifiers will officially start on June 2. The performances of Somnus and Azure Ray are highly anticipated, and fans hope that they can achieve greater success.
