EDward Gaming (EDG) officially part ways with Bot Assum, signed iG's Ahn as his replacement..

Chinese League of Legends club EDward Gaming (EDG) announced on Tuesday through its official Weibo that the team has decided to part ways with Bot player Zou Wei (Assum), and former iG player An Shanye (Ahn) has officially joined the club and will replace him.

According to EDG's official statement, the club is very grateful for Assum's efforts and contribution in the past few months, and hopes that both parties will have the opportunity to work together again in the future. At the same time, they are also looking forward to working with Ahn in the future.

About Assum

Assum, 21 years old, whose real name is Zou Wei, was born on November 30, 2003. In 2019, he became a professional League of Legends e-sports Bot player.

Assum's professional career began with Suning Youth. The following summer, he officially made his debut in the LDL Summer Season 2020 as a member of Weibo Gaming YT.

During this spell, he advanced to the playoffs with a record of 18 wins and 7 losses with team, and lost to the LGD Youth Team 0:3 in the first round of the playoffs and being eliminated in the quarterfinals.

In May 2021, Assum was officially promoted to the Suning main team, but returned to the Weibo Gaming YT 2 months later.

During 2022, Assum once advanced to the playoffs with the Weibo Gaming YT in the LDL Spring with a record of 16 wins and 6 losses, defeated the TES.C in the first round of the playoffs to enter the second round, and then lost to FPB (FPX Youth Team) in the second round and was eliminated.

In June of the same year, Assum moved to LGD.

In December 2022, Assum joined Rare Atom (RA).

During his two-year spell with RA, Assum reached the semi-finals of the 2023 Demacia Cup with the team, but unfortunately lost to JD Gaming (JDG) 0:3 and being eliminated in the semi-finals.

In December 2024, Assum joined EDG.

During his four-month spell he played for EDG, Assum made it to the quarterfinals of the 2024 Demacia Cupwith the team, but lost to his former team Weibo Gaming by 0:2, and was eliminated in the semi-finals. His team was also eliminated in the group stage of the of the 2025 LPL Split 1.

About Ahn

Ahn, 24 years old, whose real name is An Shanye, was born in Chuzhou, Anhui on March 15, 2001. He mainly played as a Bot and ADC.

Ahn joined the VG.P in 2020 and began his professional career as a League of Legends e-sports player ever since.

In the LDL Summer Season of the same year, Ahn and the VG.P lost to the iG Youth 1:3 in the second round of the playoffs and were eliminated in the top six.

In 2021, after the club was renamed RA Youth, Ahn won the championship in the LDL Summer with a 3:2 victory over RYL in the final of the same year.

In December of the same year, Ahn joined iG.

During his three-year spell with iG, Ahn helped the team reach the 2022 Demacia Cup knockout stage, but lost to BLG in the first round and being eliminated in the quarterfinals.
