Riot Games officially launches LP refund mechanism

Riot Games has officially launched an LP refund mechanism. If you encounter a cheater in a ranked match and lose the game, the system will return your lost LP after detecting and banning the cheater.
This change will be released with version 25.06 and will be supported by Riot's self-developed anti-cheat system Vanguard.
If you play against a cheater in a match and lose, you will automatically receive LP compensation once the cheater is detected and banned.
System notifications include:
The date of the game
Banned cheater Riot ID
Number of LPs returned
Your latest rank after refund
It seems that even if the LP refund allows the player to advance, the system will still proceed as normal. For example, the sample screenshots provided by Riot show that the affected player was Diamond II 98LP before the refund and successfully advanced after the refund.
It's still unclear how this will work for Apex Rank, as the rankings for these tiers are refreshed regularly.
If a player is on the same team with a cheater in a game, they will not have their LP deducted. However, if they are found to have intentionally teamed up with a cheater, they will be banned together.
In version 25.06, if a player you report is banned, the system will notify you that the player has been permanently banned and thank you.

Although this feature is simple, it allows players to know in real time whether their reports are effective, further improving the experience of fighting cheaters.
