Denmark beat Portugal 1-0, Rasmus Hoylen pays tribute to Ronaldo

Denmark beat Portugal 1-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Nations League quarter-final on Thursday, thanks to a crucial goal from Rasmus Hoyllen.

In the 78th minute, substitute Hoylen scored the only goal of the game to give Denmark the lead at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, a goal that came as a relief to Christian Eriksen, who had missed a penalty in the first half.

After scoring, Hoylen imitated Ronaldo's classic celebration in front of him to pay tribute to his idol. After the game, the Manchester United striker said: "This is great. Today is a great day in many ways. I played against my idol and scored the winning goal. The result is perfect."

As Hoylen's captain at Manchester United, Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes admitted after the game that the team needed to make adjustments: "We are not surprised, we know they are aggressive and we know they will attack us with all their strength."

"But we were not tough enough in the confrontation and need to be smarter in using the space. We still have a tough game to play, but we want to win very much. At home, in front of our fans, we are confident that we can turn the situation around."
