Roma star Paulo Dybala will undergo surgery in the near future due to a semitendinosus injury in his left leg. The player and the club agree that the surgery will help him recover smoothly.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Dybala is expected to be out for the season after surgery. He also missed the Argentina national team's two World Cup qualifiers this month.
The 31-year-old Dybala came from the youth training system of Cordoba Academy and made his professional debut for the first team in the Argentine Second Division on August 13, 2011. He then played for Palermo and Juventus, and won 5 Serie A titles, 4 Italian Cup titles and 3 Italian Super Cup titles with Juventus.
In July 2022, Dybala joined Roma as a free agent. So far, he has played 113 games for Roma, contributing 42 goals and 22 assists, but due to injuries, he has been sidelined for 296 days and missed 50 games. This left leg semitendinosus injury is Dybala's 17th injury in Roma. For this reason, Roma sent blessings to Dybala: "I wish Dybala a speedy recovery, and we look forward to your return to the court as soon as possible!"
Dybala also released a statement on his personal social media platform to pay tribute to the Roma and Argentine fans. He said: "Dear friends, first of all, thank you very much for your love and support. After undergoing examinations and evaluating various options, I decided to have surgery now to return to the field as soon as possible."
“Although I can’t play for the time being, I will still fully support my teammates in Roma and face the crucial stage of the season together. I will also follow the national team as a fan and cheer for them in the upcoming qualifiers.”
"I promise to come back stronger as soon as possible," Dybala concluded. "See you on the pitch! Long live Roma! Long live Argentina!"
