Former Liverpool legendary Spain international winger Luis García officially appointed as Malaysian Super League giants Johor Darul Ta'zim's new CEO..

Malaysian Super League defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), announced on their official website on Monday that former Liverpool legendary Spain international winger Luis García will be appointed as the club's new CEO.

According to JDT's official statement, García's term will take effect from April 2025. He will replace former Australia international center forward Alistair Edwards as the club's new CEO, who will move to the role as the club's new Technical Director.

In addition, according to the news brought by GOAL's resident renowned English English Liverpool team correspondent Neil Jones, although García will be appointed as Johor Darul Ta'zim's new CEO, this does not mean that his role as Liverpool's official global ambassador will be abolished. The latter will still hold both positions while ensuring that there will be no conflict of interest.

García's appointment as the Malaysian Super League defending champions' new CEO has unsurprisingly quickly attracted local Liverpool fans in Malaysia to leave messages and support on his personal and JDT's official social media accounts.
