Anthony is very happy in Real Betis and has found himself

Brazilian winger Antonio Antoni says joining Real Betis was the "best decision" he has ever made, but he is yet to confirm whether he will stay at the club beyond the end of this season.

Since joining Betis on loan from Manchester United in January this year, the 25-year-old has been reborn in La Liga and has played 12 games for the team so far, contributing 4 goals and 4 assists. His outstanding performance not only made teammate Isco joke that the club should launch a crowdfunding campaign to keep him in the team, but coach Pellegrini also praised him after winning the Seville derby.

Anthony joined Manchester United from Ajax in 2022 but failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford. This season, he was loaned out after just eight Premier League appearances. However, he said he had "found himself" in Spain but remained open to staying at Betis.

Anthony said in an interview: "I am very happy here, but it is too early to talk about the future."

"I found myself, I needed to find myself, I needed to be happy, my family needed to be happy. As time went on, I felt more and more that this was the best decision I made. I enjoy the city, the club and every day. [Sevilla] reminds me of a lot of good memories in Brazil - the sun, the food, everything is familiar. The people here are also very welcoming. For us Brazilians, this sense of belonging is really important."

This Saturday, Anthony will have the opportunity to further cement his reputation against Barcelona.
