Loew: I have no intention of retiring at the moment, coaching the national team is the most suitable option for me

Joachim Loew recently expressed his intention to coach the national team again.

Loew, 65, was born in Schönau in the Black Forest, Germany, and started working in the youth training system of the Winterthur club at the age of 32. He then coached Frauenfeld, Stuttgart, Fenerbahçe, Karlsruhe, Adanaspor, Innsbruck and Austria Vienna, and led the team to win the German Cup, the Austrian Super League and the Austrian Super Cup once each.

In June 2006, Loew, then assistant coach, replaced Jurgen Klinsmann as head coach of the German national team. He coached the German team for 15 years, during which time he led the team to a record of 125 wins, 39 draws and 34 losses, and won the 2014 World Cup and the 2017 Confederations Cup.

However, Loew has been unemployed since leaving the German team in 2021. In an interview with German Sky Sports yesterday, he talked about the future and said: "I have said that if a promising and attractive opportunity arises, I do not intend to retire at this time."

"Of course, I'm always associated with the national team because I was the national team coach for a long time. I think that coaching the national team is the most suitable choice for me in terms of my experience because I haven't been involved in club football for a long time."
