Ribery on Oliseh's performance at Bayern

Bayern Munich legend Franck Ribery recently spoke to Bild about the French rising star Michael Oliseh, who is now shining at the Allianz Arena. The winger, who transferred from Crystal Palace, has performed well this season and won high praise from the outside world. But in Ribery's view, in order to truly become a world-class player, Oliseh still needs to "understand Bayern" and find a balance between integrating into the club culture and continuously producing at a high level.

Ribery said: "To be honest, I didn't know Oliseh before he came to Bayern, but he really made me shine. He played well for Bayern and also performed well in the national team. Now I know him and I enjoy watching him play."

Oliseh has played 41 games in all competitions this season, contributing 13 goals and 14 assists, making him a powerful weapon in Bayern's attack. However, off the field, his taciturnity and low-key style have sparked some discussion, whether it is the brief speech at the signing conference, the scene where Musiala "answered" the questions in the post-match interview, or the awkward feeling of not participating in the chorus at the Christmas team event, all of which show that he has not yet fully integrated into Germany.

Ribery said: "Olisei is still young and this is his first time playing for a really big club. If he wants to become the world's top player, he must maintain this level for three, four or five years, not just one season."

“It’s not just about the numbers, it’s about mentality and professionalism.”

When asked if Oliseh needs to learn German to succeed at Bayern, Ribery gave a clear answer: "Of course."

"Learning the language is part of understanding the club's culture and a respect for teammates and fans. He should try to speak it, even if he makes mistakes. This is more important than not speaking at all and being silent all the time."

"I met him once at Sebener Strasse (Bayern's training base) and I could feel that he was a kid who wanted to learn and succeed."
