Polish Trail Blazers announce contract extension with general manager Joe Cronin

The Portland Trail Blazers have officially announced that they have reached a multi-year contract extension with current general manager Joe Cronin.

Cronin initially joined the Portland Trail Blazers as an intern and has worked in various front office management positions. He has now been with the team for 19 years and has accumulated rich experience.

On May 10, 2022, Cronin was appointed general manager of the Portland Trail Blazers. Cronin served as acting general manager as early as December 2021. In the past three seasons as general manager, Cronin made a series of lineup adjustments to help the team continue to improve.

Under Cronin's leadership, several important transactions were completed, including the introduction of Jerami Grant in 2022, Deandre Ayton and Toumani Kamara in September 2023, etc.

In addition, Cronin also drafted young players for the Portland Trail Blazers, including Sheldon Sharp, Scooter Henderson and Donovan Klingen, all of whom were selected for the NBA Rising Stars Challenge and appeared in multiple All-Star Games.

Regarding the contract extension, Cronin said: "I am very honored that Jody and Bert continue to trust me and thank them for letting me lead the team to continue to pursue victory. I hope to build a competitive lineup with potential, and also build a culture where players, coaches and staff can thrive."
