Jalen Wells was injured during the game and was carried off the court on a stretcher after falling.

Jalen Wells suffered a broken right wrist after being injured at the end of a fast break dunk during the Memphis Grizzlies' 124-100 win over the Charlotte Hornets.

Interim head coach Thomas Isalo said that it was eight minutes after Jaylen Wells fell to the ground that he was carried off the court on a stretcher by medical staff. His head was tied to restrict the player's movement, and he was then taken to the hospital. Currently, Jaylen Wells' limbs have recovered.

Jaylen Wells' father, Fred Wells, said that Jaylen Wells was alert at the time and even asked about the score of the game. Jaylen Wells felt obvious pain in his face, jaw and back. After the game, Jaylen Wells posted a message on social media with a bandage on his arm and wrote in the picture: "Come on, Memphis Grizzlies!"

Jalen Wells received a pass from Ja Morant and rushed to the basket, and Simpson tried to catch up with him, but accidentally cut in from behind. The collision caused Jalen Wells to lose his balance in the air, hit his head on the court near the baseline, and then fell.

The game was suspended for 23 minutes. After watching the replay, the referee sentenced Simpson to a second-degree flagrant foul, which was unnecessary physical contact and he would be automatically ejected. After the two players collided, Simpson immediately checked on Jaylen Wells, and his face was full of frustration.
