Lens completes contract extension with French center back Jonathan Gradit..


Lens announced on its official website on Wednesday that the club has extended the contract of its French center back Jonathan Gradit.


According to Lens' official statement, Gradit has signed on a new three-year contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2028.


About Jonathan Gradit


Gradit, 32, was born on November 24, 1992 in Talence, France. He is 1.80 meters tall and plays as a center back.


Gradit played for the youth academy of Club Pyrénées Aquitaine a local non-league club in Bordeaux. He joined Bordeaux's youth academy in 2003 and started playing for Bordeaux B team in 2011, but did not get the opportunity to be promoted to the first-team.


After being released in the summer of the following year, Gradit joined Bayonne as a free agent.


In January 2014, Gradit moved to Tours as a free agent and completed his Tours first-team debut in March of the same year.


After leaving the club at the end of his contract in the summer of 2018, Gradit joined Caen as a free agent.


In August of the following year, Gradit joined Lens for €400,000.


Since becoming a member of Lens, Gradit has played 176 times for the Ligue 1 club in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists. During which  he has reached the Coupe de France quarter finals once with the club and unexpectedly qualified to the UEFA Champions League with the club once.
