Russian e-sport powerhouse BetBoom (BB) announced and confirmed on Wednesday through its official X (Twitter) account that former Virtus.pro (VP) In-Game Leader Kiritych will stand-in for Carry Pure who was ill during the entire Dota 2 DreamLeague Season 26 tournament.
Although BB did not disclose the reason why Kiritych suddenly stand-in for Pure, the latter's former teammate RAMZES666 indirectly and accidentally revealed the reason.
RAMZES666 said that he had contacted Pure and knew the reason for his absence, but in order to respect privacy and BetBoom (BB) regards the reason as a commercial secret, he will not disclose the reason for Pure's absence.
In fact, Pure said at the end of April that due to intense training and competitions day and night, he felt physically and mentally exhausted recently, so he was unable to perform at his best. Therefore, fans speculated that the player might have suffered from mental illness due to excessive pressure, and this matter is very sensitive, thus BB and Pure himself decided not to disclose the reason.
It is worth mentioning that BB had already announced on the first day of the DreamLeague Season 26 that Kiritych would stand-in for Pure, but the club did not reveal the reason. It was not until the official announcement on the 21st that the former would continue to stand-in for the latter to during the entire tournament that rumours speculating that Pure was recovering from illness was indirectly confirmed.
In the absence of Pure, BB first drew with Xtreme Gaming (XG) and Aurora, and then lost to Nigma Galaxy (NGX).
