On Sunday, Ukrainian veteran e-sports powerhouse NAVI announced through its official Twitter account that the club has officially acquired the American veteran powerhouse Rogue and will join the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC).
According to NAVI's official statement, the club has intended to join the LEC since its establishment in 2013, but due to insufficient funds, the club had no choice but to end its League of Legends team after 2017.
Despite this, the dream of having its own League of Legends team has never been shattered, and now NAVI is very happy to return to this popular e-sports project through this new way.
NAVI also stated that this acquisition of Rogue is not for gimmicks, but to seriously continue to build a top team that can have outstanding results in the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) and aim to dominate the world.
With this acquisition, all members of the current Rogue roster will officially play under the NAVI banner.
It is worth mentioning that as early as the end of March, foreign media outlet Sheep Esports had already revealed that NAVI was interested in acquiring Rogue, which has been trying to sell its LEC spot in recent months, but has not been successful.
During the process, Saudi e-sports club FLC bid for the spot last year, but was rejected by Riot Games.
Similarly, the UAE team Nigma Galaxy also proposed an acquisition plan, but ultimately failed to reach an agreement.
This is also the first time that a new team has joined the LEC since French club Karmine Corp (KC) acquired Astralis' spot in October 2023.
