AC Milan gives up on signing Marcus Rashford and turns focus to Kyle Walker

AC Milan have reportedly abandoned plans to sign Manchester United star Marcus Rashford as the Serie A giants turn their focus to Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker.
According to L'Equipe, the Serie A rules limit clubs to register only one English player per season, forcing Milan to choose between two high-profile English stars. Although Milan had previously shown strong interest in both players, the latest report says Walker has become Milan's main target.
Manchester City coach Guardiola revealed earlier that the veteran right-back expressed his desire to leave the club and go abroad. However, Walker's contract with Manchester City does not expire until June 2026, which means Milan must complete the transaction through a permanent transfer or loan, because Walker cannot join as a free agent.
Rashford's future remains up in the air following Milan's decision. Last month, the Manchester United star publicly stated that he was ready to leave Old Trafford for a new challenge. The Sun reports that Napoli manager Antonio Conte is a big fan of Rashford. The Italian club hopes to win back fans who were disappointed by the sale of Hvita Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain by signing an iconic player like Rashford. Rashford, 27, is understood to be open to a move to Serie A and has expressed interest in joining Napoli.
The transfer rumors surrounding both players come at a crucial time, with both Manchester United and Manchester City both facing important league games. Rashford's participation in Manchester United's game against Brighton remains unknown due to the uncertainty over his future. Similarly, Walker may not appear in Manchester City's game against Ipswich Town as his move to Italy is close to completion.
