Sky Sports' resident renowned German transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg brought exclusive news on Friday that Eintracht Frankfurt's Egypt international forward Omar Marmoush has reached an agreement with Manchester City over his transfer.
According to Plettenberg's report, Manchester City did not expect to strengthen their forward position, but because they have realized that its main Premier League title rivals Liverpool was increasingly inclined to sign Marmoush during this summer window, this eventually prompted the Cityzens to suddenly decide to join the transfer battle for the player.
He revealed that Manchester City has reached an agreement with Marmoush and Frankfurt. The striker, whose goalscoring efficiency this season is comparable to his compatriot Mohamed Salah, has agreed to sign a long-term four-and-a-half-year deal with the former which will run until the summer of 2029.
The defending Premier League champions will also pay Frankfurt a transfer fee of €80 million to sign Marmoush, and the player has also said goodbye to Die Adler fans after the game against Borussia Dortmund this week.
At the same time, Plettenberg added that in addition to Marmoush, Manchester City has also reached an agreement with Palmeiras on the transfer of Brazil U21s international defender wonderkid Vitor Reis.
He also revealed that Real Madrid had previously pursued Reis fiercely, but the player eventually chose to join the Cityzens.
With the release of this breaking news, it also means that Marmoush's transfer saga will end in an unexpected way.
