Enzo Maresca: Enzo Fernandez's understanding of the game has become even better

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca says Enzo Fernandez has improved significantly this season, with the midfielder's influence on the team continuing to increase.
After Enzo Fernandez's brief absence from the starting lineup, he returned to the away game against Leicester City and contributed a goal and an assist to the team's 2-1 victory.
Fernandes captained the team in the next nine Premier League games and played in four of them. He also continued to create chances for his teammates, with only 10 players creating more open play chances in the top flight than Fernandes (38).
Enzo Fernandez has played a more prominent role in the team this season under coach Enzo Maresca and has been impressed by the information he has received as the season has progressed.
"Enzo Fernandes understands the game much better and I think that's normal when you start a new process," said Maresca. "Also, we want him to play differently than he did in the past, not only last year but also two or three years ago when he was in Portugal or Argentina."
"We believed Enzo Fernandes would score and give us clear chances. I think if he played better he could have scored three or four more goals from those three or four chances."
"We think we will get there soon with Enzo Fernandez and the whole team."
