Will Hughes, who currently plays for Crystal Palace, was pleased with his players’ performance in the win over West Ham United.
Will Hughes praised the defence and said: "West Ham have a couple of players injured which is obviously not an ideal situation for them. However, it plays into our hands and we can only play against the teams in front of us."
"I thought we defended really well, I don't know if we conceded one shot on target the whole game, which is really impressive because they have such good strikers. But in the end, it's a credit to our defense as a whole team."
This provided a platform for the likes of Eberle Eze, who has contributed five goals with assists in his last five games, and Jean-Philippe Mateta, who scored two goals against West Ham, to perform extremely well and secure the win.
Will Hughes said of Jean-Philippe Mateta: “It’s difficult to stop him, physically and technically he has it all and you saw that today.
"Like I said, he has it all, pace, power, technique and ball control. The way he finished the first goal, I haven't seen it yet, but from where I was, he barely leaned back, he just went straight in. He has it all and it's great to play with him."
