Riot Games officially announced that the 2025 League of Legends Global Finals (Worlds 2025) will be held in four cities in China. The event will kick off on October 14 and will culminate in the much-anticipated finals in Chengdu on November 9.
The Beijing Intelligent E-sports Center will kick off the tournament with fierce qualifying and Swiss round group matches. A total of 16 teams will compete in the Swiss round from October 15 to 25, including two teams that broke through the qualifying round.
Except for the key promotion or elimination battles, which are played in best-of-three games, the rest of the games are decided in one game. On October 14, the fourth seeds from Korea's LCK and China's LPL will take the lead in a best-of-five match to compete for the final spot in the Swiss round.
The eight qualified teams will move to the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai from October 28 to November 2 to start the knockout stage. It is worth mentioning that the quarterfinals and semifinals will be held consecutively, testing the players' extreme physical fitness and strategic adaptability for the first time in the global finals.
On November 9, the finals will be held at the Chengdu Dong'an Lake Sports Park Multifunctional Stadium. The stadium can accommodate 18,000 spectators and is known for its modern design and magnificent appearance. The champion team will hold the Summoner's Cup, which symbolizes the highest honor.
China and South Korea each have four representative teams, while the European (LEC), Pacific (PCS) and American (LCO) regions each send three teams. Coinciding with the 15th anniversary of League of Legends e-sports, this year's global finals is not only a battle of glory, but also a witness to the world-class charm of the Asian e-sports stage.
