In the latest Valve Standings (VRS) for August 2025, Team Spirit rose from third to second place thanks to their victory at IEM Cologne 2025, second only to Team Vitality, which is firmly at the top of the list.
NAVI and FURIA also saw jumps in the rankings. NAVI rose to fifth place thanks to their qualification for the IEM Cologne playoffs, while FURIA continued their recent hot form, rising from ninth to sixth.
The biggest dark horse is undoubtedly the Chinese team TYLOO. After winning the FISSURE Playground 1, they jumped from 20th place to 10th place, creating the largest increase this month.
Meanwhile, several teams have seen their rankings decline. Team Liquid, suffering a recent losing streak, plummeted nine spots to 26th, on the verge of falling out of the top 32; Aurora Gaming dropped out of the top ten to 11th; and HEROIC fell to 18th.
The August VRS rankings will directly impact the entry rosters for several CS2 international tournaments, including the IEM Chengdu and Thunderpick World Championships later this year.
IEM Chengdu will invite two teams each from Europe, America, and Asia, along with ten spots allocated based on the global rankings. The Thunderpick World Championship will select four teams from the global rankings, though the final list of invitees has yet to be announced.
The top ten VRS teams this month are: Team Vitality, Team Spirit, MOUZ, The MongolZ, NAVI, FURIA, Team Falcons, FaZe Clan, Astralis and TYLOO.
As the season enters the second half, the competition becomes increasingly fierce, and teams will continue to compete for rankings and honors in the upcoming international competitions.
