Complexity's general manager messioso slammed Valve for allowing Perfect World to repeatedly change the format of the Counter Strike Asian Championships (CAC)..

On Monday, of the Experienced American Counter Strike 2 (CS2) team Complexity's general manager messioso, slammed Valve through his official X (Twitter) account, for allowing Perfect World to repeatedly change the format of the Counter Strike Asian Championships (CAC), creating chaos.

In his tweet, messioso expressed his confusion over how a tournament organizer could arbitrarily alter invitation slot allocations without using the latest VRS, and expressed concern that Valve has consistently failed to address criticism towards Perfect World.

He hopes Perfect World will revert to its original invitation allocations or use August's VRS instead of July's.

messioso also believes that due to the significant changes in the slot allocations, September's VRS would be more appropriate.

Finally, he called on Valve to listen carefully to these concerns, rather than blindly allowing Perfect World to constantly tinker with the format without saying anything.

Valve's Tournament Operating Requirement (TO) Rulebook stipulate that invitations to any Tier-2 Tournaments must be issued within 30 days of the release of the tournament's Additional Information.

It's worth noting that since Perfect World announced on August 1st that nine teams would receive direct invitations based on their July VRS, the CAC format has been criticized by many around the world.

The most vocal criticism has been Perfect World's decision to remove both direct invitation spots originally reserved for Chinese teams, awarding one directly to the Brazilian team miBR and requiring the other to be determined through the Asian qualifiers.

Furthermore, FaZe, who had originally been ineligilble forthe tournament, were granted a direct invitation spot by Perfect World, based on their status as former champions.

The Counter Strike Asian Championships (CAC) will be held in Shanghai, China, from October 14th to 19th, 2025. Sixteen top teams will compete for a $1 million prize pool, consisting of $600,000 for teams and $400,000 for players.

The following is a list of teams directly invited to the CAC:

• FaZe

• TYLOO

• 3DMAX

• Lynn Vision Gaming (LvG)

• paiN

• Virtus.pro (VP)

• Liquid

• Legacy

• B8

• miBR
