FlyQuest appoints former Renegades captain AZR as coach to lead the team in DraculaN Season 2

FlyQuest, a North American professional Counter-Strike Online (CS2) team, announced on Thursday the appointment of former Renegades and 100 Thieves captain Aaron Ward (ID: AZR) as head coach. He will replace Erdeni Tsogt Gantula (ID: erkaSt) following his departure in August and lead the team into the DraculaN Season 2 playoffs.

AZR, 32, is from Australia. His career has included stints as a leader or rifleman for teams like Vox Eminor, Renegades, 100T, EXTREMUM, Sprout, and TALON. According to HLTV, he has played 1,189 maps, participated in 30,887 rounds, and racked up 20,950 kills across various tournaments. He also helped Renegades win the 2017 SL-i Shanghai International Invitational.

However, AZR has been unemployed since TALON disbanded its Counter-Strike division in March. His move to FlyQuest marks AZR's first coaching role. Notably, he will reunite with compatriot Justin Savage (ID: jks) at FlyQuest. The two previously worked together for six years at Vox Eminor, Renegades, and 100 Thieves, winning the 2017 SL-i Shanghai International Invitational and placing second at the IEM Beijing 2019 Grand Finals.

With the addition of AZR, FlyQuest's current roster is as follows:

Commander/Rifleman: Joshua Porter (ID: INS)

Rifleman: Declan Portelli (ID: Vexite)

Rifleman: Corey Brown (ID: nettik)

Sniper: Julian Harjou (ID: regali)

Rifleman: Justin Savage (ID: jks)

Coach: Aaron Ward (ID: AZR)
